STUDIO 57 ADDS SONY 24P HDTV PACKAGE
Studio 57 and Sony Broadcast are proud to announce the delivery of
a Sony HDW-F900 camera package and a Sony HDW-F500 Recorder system
to the post-production wing of Studio 57. The addition of this cutting
edge equipment brings 24 frame-per-second electronic cinematography
to the Long Island facility.
Company president and CEO Madj Ebadi expressed his confidence that
the new equipment would provide area producers with the tools they
need and demand for their upcoming productions. \"We were seeing
an increase in the number of HDTV productions in the New York area
and decided that now is the time to bring this technology to bear
in our facility\" says Mr. Ebadi. \"Having the original
image recorded in High Definition gives us tremendous possibilities
much like an original 35mm negative does in traditional cinematography\".
The technology allows producers to shoot a high definition image
that is similar in size and resolution to that of 35mm film. Studio
57 provides in-house capabilities to down-convert the shot images
to regular resolution in a variety of tape formats for those clients
that wish to shoot in high definition and edit in standard definition.
\"In essence, we can now offer our clients film quality without
any of the usual inconveniences that are associated with film. We
no longer have to wait for lab processing, color correction, film
stock\" and all the costs involved. We can view the footage
immediately...no waiting to see rushes the next day. HDTV is
instant film,\" says Ebadi.
The technology is ideal for a variety of production needs including
documentary, commercial, corporate, music video and feature film.
Hollywood has converted to this technology almost exclusively for
episodic television production and high profile producers such as
George Lucas and James Cameron are currently using the HDW-F900
camera in the production of A-List blockbuster feature films.
